BLY performs free-form sound-based vocal music. Key to the duo’s artistic expression is the exploration of different textures produced solely by voice.

Using everyday vocal sounds as a starting point, BLY creates music that is characterised by small movements; passages develop through gradual timbral changes and rhythmical transformations. BLY works in an acoustic format, using microphones, but no electronics. In this way timbral nuances and even the softest sounds can be brought into focus.

BLY consists of Ingrid Romarheim Haugen and Helen Louise Solberg. They have performed together since 2009.
